Phone lines and internet service went down across most of Wallowa County due to a damaged fiber line. Crews located the damaged line and completed repairs, and service was restored by 12:35 PM on August 10, 2026.
During the outage: 911 calls were rerouted and answered. Callers were asked to remain on the line and provide their location to the dispatcher. Residents trying to reach non-emergency numbers were asked to be patient and to retry their calls later.
